Paper Recycling for repair

Paper Recycling Process

Paper recycling is as important as its manufacture. The raw material for producing paper is already lacking, even with reforestation policies and increased awareness of society. By using computers, many social scientists believed that the use of paper would decrease, especially in industry and offices. However, that did not occur and paper consumption for the 20th century was much higher.

In order to produce one ton of paper from waste paper, water consumption is often lower and energy consumption is about half. One ton of recycled paper saves 2.5 oil barrels , 98 thousand liters of water and 2,500 kw/h of power.

The Advantages of Recycling Paper • Cost saving on raw materials: the shavings paste is cheaper than first-hand pulp.
• Natural Resource Saving

Wood:A ton of shaving may replace approximately 2 - 4m³ of wood, according to the type of paper to be produced. This corresponds to a new life for an average of 15 - 30 trees.

Water: In order to produce one ton of recycled paper only 2,000 liters of water are required, while in the traditional process up to 100,000 liters/ton are required.

Energy: On average, half the energy is saved. An 80% saving may be achieved when simple recycled paper is compared with virgin papers made with pulp refiner.

Reduction of Pollution: Theoretically, recycling plants may operate without causing impacts on the environment as the critical pulp production stage is already concluded. However, usually-subsidized small Brazilian industries, which compete with major industries, do not invest much in environmental control.

Job Creation: paper recycling is expected to generate five times more employment than the production of paper and virgin pulp, and ten times more jobs than waste collection and disposal.

Reduced “garbage billing”: Brazil, however, recycles only 30% of the total paper and cardboard consumed.

Recycled paper may be used in cardboard boxes, bags, egg packaging, fruit trays, toilet paper, notebooks and books, office supplies, envelopes, printing paper, among other products.
